Despite her family's difficult circumstances and an orphaned father, female student Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh still tries her best to study, raise her dreams and aspirations to enter the medical profession.

Phu Duc High School for the 2020-2021 school year includes 42 classes with nearly 2,000 students. In the last 4 years, the number of excellent students of the school has always occupied the number 1 position in the group of high schools in Thai Binh province. Every year, the school has more than 80% of students admitted to colleges and universities with more than 20 cases being directly recruited. Continuing the tradition of studiousness from previous generations, teachers and students always try to overcome difficulties, especially during the complicated time of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh, passed in class 10A5 with a total score of 27.35 points in Math, Literature and English - the highest score in class 10A5. 9 years in a row, she has always been a good student. Linh's strength is Biology and Literature. In 2020-2021, she won the second prize in Biology at both district and provincial levels. Before that, from 6th grade to 8th grade, Linh was always the best student in Literature. Entering high school, class 10A5 where Khanh Linh attends is the top class of 10th grade students specializing in B. In a competitive learning environment, Khanh Linh always has to try not to be backward in class. The family has a difficult situation, if you try 1, Linh has to try 2,3 times more. In the eyes of teachers and friends, Khanh Linh has always been a girl with remarkable spirit and academic achievement. Through her resume, the teacher felt touched and admired her will to rise up even though her family situation is classified as near-poor, however, her eagerness to learn made her teacher admire when she won the second prize in Biology. Although her home is far from school, Linh still tries to study well in all subjects and ranks at the top of her class.

Khanh Linh is always there to take care of her grandmother outside of school hours

Linh's house is located in An Duc commune, Tien Hai district, Thai Binh province. The households around here mainly make a living by farming rice. Without the affection of a father, Khanh Linh is currently living with her mother and grandmother. The house where 3 people live was built a few decades ago. Her mother is old, and Linh's grandmother is over 90 years old, often sick. In addition to studying at school, she often help her mother with housework and take care of her. At home, the first thing Linh did was prepare lunch for her grandmother. Linh's grandmother has been sick for several years, often confused, sometimes bedridden. Her mother worked at the company until evening, so she took care of everything in the house. Without her father by her side, Linh lived independently and was able to replace her mother with many household chores. On days when she came home late from school, Linh had to ask her uncle to help and cook lunch for her.

Ly - Linh's mother is 62 years old this year. At this age, people usually have children and grandchildren, but Khanh Linh's mother is still working hard to take care of her young children and elderly mother. Ms. Ly has worked at a garment factory for nearly 2 years, her monthly income ranges from 4-5 million VND. The job often has to stand causing her back and leg pain, but she still has to try to hold on because if she quit, she won't know where to get money for her children to go to school, medicine for her elderly mother and living expenses in the family. The salary is not much, but it is the only source of income for the family. When life was difficult, the fees piled up, she had to ask for help from her brothers and sisters, neighbors to have temporary money to cover.

Enrolling in block B of the school, Linh thought very carefully because of her mother's wish for her child to be a medical student in the future, and for Linh, she wanted to enter Thai Binh Medical University. At an adult age, Linh's mother hopes that she can try her best to be able to send her children to school in the future. Loving her hard-working mother but trying to work hard to let herself pursue her dreams, Khanh Linh always takes advantage of studying anytime, anywhere. She shared that self-study at home, trying to memorize knowledge logically, and learning from reality are the methods to learn Biology well. "My mother and grandmother are getting weaker and weaker, so my effort must be equal to the speed of my grandmother and mother's aging, so that I can have a stable job to support myself in the future both mother and grandmother."
