29/07/2021 10:21

5 years ago, the legs of Mr. Le Van Dat (58 years old, TT Cay Duong, Hau Giang) suddenly became dry sticks after a disease. 3 years later, it was Le Thi Cuc's turn (55 years old, his wife) had a traffic accident that broke her leg. 2 old people, 2 pairs of legs that never straightened, still trying to hold on to the house that was about to fall.

5 years ago, from a healthy person, Mr. Le Van Dat was no longer able to walk normally because his legs suddenly became dry sticks after a serious illness. All work and activities in the family depend on his wife, Mrs. Le Thi Cuc. But then 3 years later, it was Mrs. Cuc's turn to have a traffic accident that broke her leg. The house was already poor, now it's even more difficult. Two old people, two legs that can never be straightened, still rely on each other every day, trying to hold on to a house that can collapse at any time. Their lives now depend on a meager income from Mrs. Cuc's lottery tickets.

The house of Mr. Dat and Mrs. Cuc has been built for ten years. When erected, the whole house had only one material, the white wisteria, weak and unable to support.

Dat and his wife have been selling lottery tickets in Can Tho city for more than 10 years. Because the house was too old, in danger of collapsing, in 2010, he returned to his hometown to ask his neighbors to pour exactly 6 concrete pillars to build the wall of the house. However, last year, the storm No. 5 collapsed the rafter, Mr. Dat had to drag his stiff legs to buy a rafter for 400,000 VND to build himself, using some cloth to make the entrance. Now, every time it rains and the wind blows, the couple is afraid because the rafters are so soft, they don't know when they will fall again.

Knowing the tragic situation of Mrs. Le Thi Cuc's family and some other households, the Fatherland Front Committee of Cay Duong town combined with the Vietlott to donate for them.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Tin (Deputy Director of Vietlott Can Tho branch) shared: “With his core responsibility is honesty, respect and responsibility. Responsibility to security and society is always very concerned by the Company's leaders. When developing markets, coming to new markets, and each locality, Vietlott always contacts to carry out welfare work in the localities.”

Close to the day of receiving the new house, Mrs. Cuc was so touched and happy that she couldn't sleep at night, waiting every day to be able to step into the house that she had dreamed of for so many years.
