THE DREAM OF GOING TO SCHOOL OF LITTLE GIRL WITH DISABILITY PARENTS

16/08/2021 22:44

Class 8A at Xuan Vinh Secondary School, Tho Xuan, Thanh Hoa is where Ngo Thi Bac is studying. Unlike friends, Bac is 1 year older because of difficult circumstances, so she had to take a year off from 7th grade. Her family is a severely disabled household, both parents and older brother are born with intellectual disability. Although Bac has some genetics from her parents, in class she is always a diligent student, gets along with friends and always strives to excel in studies with the help of friends and teachers.

Ms. Le Thi Le -  teacher of class 8A shared: “I really like you Bac, right from the beginning of the year, her awareness is always very good. From class work such as planting trees and labor, she does it very fully and actively. But learning to be agile is also a bit difficult. After studying until the 8th grade, she also hope that she will be supported so that she can study to improve her understanding, awareness, and change, so that she can help the family that is counting on her.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu – teacher of Bac

After school, Bac's first job was to help his parents cook rice. There are 5 people in Bac's family, her older brother is helping her uncles and aunts in the South and she have a younger child in Primary school. So everything in the house is taken care of by Bac, from cooking, washing to cleaning the house. But with Bac, she have to roll up her sleeves and go to the kitchen. The meal in  Bac's home has only one dish, which is vegetable soup. If one day her mother can go to the market or get a piece of meat and fish from her aunt, then her meal will be improved.

Bac's mother often had seizures, his father had an intellectual disability, so her schooling was difficult, now it's even more difficult. For difficult exercises, she can only ask teachers or friends in class. Bac is now the only hope in the family, only studying can help her to get family out of the current difficulties.

Sharing with her difficulties, in collaboration with the program to give opportunities to connect dreams, the representative of Vietlott awarded a scholarship to Bac to help her continue on her path of study.
