DREAM TO SCHOOL OF AN ORPHANED BOY

09/08/2021 22:27

The Journey of Giving Opportunities - Connecting dreams continues to Xuan Thien commune, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province to give love and hope to Nguyen Mau Huy, a student of Xuan Thien Secondary School, Thanh Hoa to continue his dream to go to school.

Nguyen Mau Huy - a student with a petite and vivacious figure is studying at class 7C, Xuan Thien Secondary School, Tho Xuan, Thanh Hoa. But behind that appearance is an admirable will to rise up in study. As an orphan boy of both parents, in the poor household of the commune, Huy is currently living alone in his family. He had two older sisters, but his older sister got married. Just a few months before entering secondary school, Huy was shocked when both his parents died. The loss that can't be put into words has caused a child like him to be severely affected psychologically. The death of his parents, the lack of family affection made Huy become closed, always sad and quiet. The little boy tried to overcome the pain, tried to study, practice and luckily, by the 7th grade, he had made remarkable progress, became more active, worked hard to participate in the activities of the school. More specifically, his learning ability has also gone up in a positive direction, much improved compared to the previous year.

After coming home from school, the first thing Huy did was raise chickens. Huy raises chickens for eggs to save some money. Huy's mother died of lung disease, then his father also left him because of heart disease when Huy was in 5th grade. Living alone, Huy did everything in the house by himself, from washing, cleaning to cooking, everything. Everything he does is very good. In his free time, Huy often goes to the garden to take care of some vegetable to make daily food. Looking at him, no one thinks Huy is only 13 years old, because his face always exudes contemplation and thinking. Huy's sister, who works in the South, is currently on maternity leave, so she takes advantage of the opportunity to come back and play with her brother for a few days. Both of his sisters are married far away,  so they can't help Huy much. Sometimes when she comes back to play, she buys food, and for daily living expenses, Huy lives on allowances and the help of his uncle-in-law next door. “Thanks to the state's orphanage allowance, he get 400.000 VND a month, so he just rely on it every month. " - Huy's sister shed tears.

Since his mother's death, the family has become difficult, at that time Huy did not understand anything. When his father died, he understood. Huy shared, he feel he need to learn more to be successful in life. His future plan is to raise rabbits, because rabbits have a great economy, which will help him have more money to cover. Outside of class, Huy often spends 2-3 hours studying at home. Huy had to wait until class time to ask teachers and friends for difficult lessons. Huy likes to study Physics because he can apply the knowledge in life. The boy Mau Huy has a thin figure, but his will to live and rise up in his studies makes his teachers and friends respect him.

Witnessing Huy's constant efforts, the representative of Vietlott awarded him a scholarship of VND 25 million to help him become more confident in his upcoming journey. Hopefully, this will be a great source of motivation for Nguyen Mau Huy, helping him gain strength and confidence to continue to overcome difficulties and challenges in life.
