Phieng Khoai Secondary School is a school in the mountainous district of Son La province, following the 20km long pass road, Phieng Khoai Secondary School located in the highland mountains is the school of 644 students in Phieng Khoai commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province. Established in 1998, up to now, the school has had 644 students at all levels, of which 359 students in remote areas have to live at the school. Because of geographical barriers, more than half of students choose part-boarding to facilitate their study here.

The school has a very large campus of about 5 hectares. However, the construction of the school is not synchronous, in terms of facilities, there are many shortages such as classrooms and toilet facilities. The school's facilities have only 10 rooms with a capacity of nearly 100 students, while the number of day-boarding students at the school is more than 350. Most of the students are from ethnic minorities such as Thai and H'mong.
